Prepare your Exit 👋

• Clear your plate before you leave and make sure everyone knows you’ll be away! Share your destination/itinerary so that your coworkers are aware of a time difference if there’s a real emergency (and won't wake you in the middle of the night).  
• Stop adding new things to your workload at least 2 weeks before leaving, so you have time to finish what you’ve started. If this seems impossible, delegate as much as you can (we can help you there, read on...)
• Set an out of office email notification with a contact person detail.  

When a co worker goes on holiday, reassure him that you’ll cover and handle things while he/she’s away. If anything happens, go the extra mile and handle the situation as it were your responsibility. That way they’ll be more than eager to return the favor when it’s your turn to be away and you’ll leave with more peace of mind.

Pack accordingly  🎒

No you don't need to take your PC with you "just in case". And don't take any work related papers/files thinking you'll have time "to go through them on the plane". 

And while you're at it, disinstall the Outlook app on your phone too so you won't be tempted to check your work emails to make sure "everything's fine".  

Why not pack a good book instead? By focusing on something else than work, you'll come back relaxed and rested!

Chances are your phone plan needs a costly upgrade to work, so keep your money.. a little digital detox will do you good!
